How we train
The Bar Training System
Most gyms leave you to figure it out yourself. You show up, do something, go home, and hope it adds up over time. That's not how we work.
Every session at The Bar is coach-led and programmed by a qualified Sports and Exercise Scientist. We train strength and conditioning using progressive overload, quality movement, and a structure that actually builds on itself week to week. No random workouts. No leaving you to fend for yourself.
It's designed for busy adults who want real results without the extremes, in a gym environment that actually feels like it was built for them.

Every session is coach-led and programmed to fit the week's training block. Train as many or as few as fits your week.
Strength
Build real strength
Move better, train with purpose, and see measurable gains. These sessions focus on technique and progressive overload using barbells, dumbbells, and bodyweight. Built for anyone who wants to lift with confidence.
Cardio
Build fitness and capacity
Improve your fitness and endurance with structured conditioning workouts. These sessions train both aerobic and anaerobic systems using machines, bodyweight, and simple equipment. Designed to build capacity while supporting recovery.
Functional
Real-world fitness
HYROX-inspired sessions that mix running, carries, and varied movements to build real-world fitness. Athletes we coach personally have taken finish times of 1:01 at HYROX Brisbane on the back of this training. Higher intensity, more variety, and a format built to challenge your engine and body in equal measure.
Friday Only
Barbaric
End the week with a bang. This intense Friday-only session brings the heat with brutal strength and conditioning combos. Expect heavy lifts, big energy, shorter working blocks, and serious post-workout satisfaction.
Saturday Only
Wildcard
Saturday's session, and you won't know what you're walking into until you get here. Circuits, stations, chippers, team formats. Always different, always worth showing up for.
